Those Were the DaysWading in the Gulf of Mexico... it was windy but the water was warm. You can see the bridge to Sanibel island in the background. Vacations are good but they have such an unreal aspect to them that we want to stay there and not go home. One week is not really enough because people don't really start to relax until the second week. That is when they realize how good relaxing feels and they don't want to leave. But I missed my daughter and my puppy and my own bed and watching the birds out my window and a load of other things so home I came. One thing I kept noticing in Florida was the way the stars looked. They seemed brighter somehow.

The Gulf of Mexico in Florida looks so different than what we see here. We've got the ship channel to contend with etc. and our waters most of the time are brownish and we have so much seaweed
It looks very relaxing, Ana -- but I agree that you need to stay 2 weeks -- less is not enough, and more is often too long!
You should see the stars in Africa! We went to Sanibel once way back before there was a bridge, just a ferry.
Aw...those WERE the days! Relaxing, warm, smiles, bright stars. But, yes, as much as I like to travel, I always miss my bed.

  looks beautiful and WARM.
We're at that stage of winter when we need to look at these pictures to help us push through! I'm ready to go back to Florida for a while. Ah.
It's been so long since I got to go on a real vacation... I had just about forgotten about the melancholy aspect of missing home. The thought of the warm salty water and bright stars sounds wonderful, but I'll just have to be content here for now. Someday we will get to travel again. For now, the memories will do, and looking at photos of other people's vacations will make me smile.
If Jenny and I had been there with you, we all would have gone swimming!
@quilt_cats - I do know I am blessed.... hope you get to travel again soon
@maryhurlbut - No doubt! I am certain the water was much warmer than you are used to although it also has different creatures in it....
