Month: February 2011

  • Pretty In Pink

I filled out an online survey for a local pet store and they sent me a gift card. I went in there to get some training treats for my doggie and their normally expensive dog clothes were on sale so I got her a little coat. She is small and Mexican so she shivers in the cold. She was ready for yet another dusting of snow we woke up to this morning. Will February never end?

  • LIFE IS A PUZZLE

    DSC_0001

This is a puzzle we began Christmas day and recently completed. It is a scene in Venice which seems familiar to us because we have visited several times. Sometimes life is like a puzzle. It is all in pieces and difficult to get the finished picture. Even if we know what it is supposed to look like we cannot always make it work. Sometimes pieces take a long time to find and sometimes they get lost. Sometimes we try to fit the wrong pieces in a spot and sometimes we get pieces mixed in that do not belong to our puzzle at all. It is a process and it takes time to work a puzzle. There is not much we can do to rush it.  A different way of “seeing” is often useful. A puzzle is a total picture that fits together one piece at a time.

  • Don’t mess with these guys!

    DSC_0360 DSC_0322

They may look lazy lying there but they can jump 12 feet and climb trees! They are all about food and you are as tasty as anything else to them. Some people are like crocs. Dangerous! Beware! They bite!

  • MY VALENTINE

My Best friend is called Greg. I have a new hero called George. I have a favorite bridge called Ben. I am in love with my new great nephew called Charlie. Happy St. Valentine’s Day!

  • Those Were the Days

    DSC_0373

Wading in the Gulf of Mexico… it was windy but the water was warm. You can see the bridge to Sanibel island in the background. Vacations are good but they have such an unreal aspect to them that we want to stay there and not go home. One week is not really enough because people don’t really start to relax until the second week. That is when they realize how good relaxing feels and they don’t want to leave. But I missed my daughter and my puppy and my own bed and watching the birds out my window and a load of other things so home I came. One thing I kept noticing in Florida was the way the stars looked. They seemed brighter somehow.
